Music Review : Aishah and The Fan Club

This is a good stuff, i found it several days before !!
I always begin experimenting my ear to some new genre, new musician and new song  by surfing them on Google. Just see what makes me attached to and go for it.

Actually, it was a coinsidence, when i tried to search an amusing old song by typing a little part of the lyric which  i overheard it on radio the days before. After i found the lyric, i copied cat the song title and downloaded it, the bluesy song was titled “Bayangan” and sung by Aishah, a Malaysian singer. This song was sung in Malaysian language and i could understand because i’m Indonesian and my mother language has similarity with Malaysian language.

Amused by her sweet-heavenly voice, I began searching about her on Malaysia Wikipedia, I got surprised of her footage that she had begun her career professionally as a vocalist in a New Zealand pop dance group named “Aishah and The Fan Club” when she had studied there in the end of 80s. Her band was so famous with  single “Sensation” and made their only biggest breakthrough in US 100 Hot Chart with their single “Don’t Let Me Fall Alone” in 1990.

I tried to watch her live performance “Sensation” on youtube when she wore a red dress. But, honestly, “Sensation” didn’t catch my soul then. I also found that her appeareance looked like an afro-american than south-asian (I compared her complexion in her “ 90s solo career” was whiter than in band), so her voice. She was “Mariah Carey” look-alike but her voice wasn’t.

I  tried to download some of her popular singles like, “I Feel Love”, “Don’t Let Me Fall Alone”, “Never Give Up On You” and so on. I saw the videos too but i dissatisfied with the resolution and made me ask “What made this famous popstar in New Zealand couldn’t deserve better resolution video ?” Well, I presumed it couldn’t made better in NZ than in US.

For me, the best are “I Don’t Need a Lover”, “I Feel Love” and “Don’t Let Me Fall Alone”. Such a flirty, lively the sound she could make. “Aw Gotta set me free boy xD !!”
But, don't be surprised if you compare her voice when she sang in band (in English) and in solo (with her mother language), it just like “Opposite-personality” because since she began her solo career, she mostly sang songs containing religious values.

Too bad, she had retired her singer career in this 21st century but I still see her band fanpage on FB too.
