Solving Problems : How to open a gp5 file in Guitar Pro 6 (Alternative Ways)

“why can’t i open a gp5 file in  Guitar Pro 6 ?”

Error Loading “singername_songname.gp5” ! “

Are you the one who has the same issue ?
Do you get this kinda message when you try to open a .gp5 format file or Guitar Pro 5 file ?
Do you still want to learn your favorite rock song tablature that you can’t figure out by yourself ?

It’s a double trouble when you died to shred or play heavy metal like Paul Gilbert or Yngwie Malmsteen but you can’t reach any of their nails if you can’t figure out any notes of their song. Well in fact, some get it, some don’t, i’d been in the hell and when i figured out that it wouldn’t be solved (because it had been Guitar Pro 6 unsolved technical problems and no solution in any web), i burnt up.But, after i went through, i got the light and i’d been out of the hell.

Here i want to share you some solutions :

  1.     Let the hell and search the song by yourself manually
  2.  View the song in Tab Pro if  there’s the file with Tab Pro format in Ultimate Guitar
  3.   By a software

Let’s check the suggestion and the choice on your hand
  1. Let the hell and search the song by yourself manually

Let the unopened guitar pro 5 file and tab the song by your instinct manually, most of then musician  covered the song by their instinct.

Instruction :
·         Listen the song multiple times (if it’s needed, slow it up)
·         Watch the musician play the song on Youtube (I reccomend live and instructional video).

Plus        :
·         Improve your music instinct ( you’ll be smarter musician )
·         Get special satisfaction and pride.
Minus   :
·         Wasting time and energy
·         Some song don’t have the video on Youtube
·         Some song don’t have good resolution video (unclear) mostly eighties below music video (mostly VHS format )
·         The music video doesn’t display full playing of the guitar
(In the case of video clip and live performance video)

2.          View the song in Tab Pro

Instruction :
·         Search the song in Ultimate Guitar

·         Click the song with Tab Pro format.
·         See and type note by note into your new .gpx file (you must create guitar pro 6 plain file first )

Plus                :
·         Still the way better and faster than the first solution.
Minus             :
·         You must have an account and submitted your own work (submit your DIY tab) in Ultimate Guitar to have an access in Tab Pro
·         Demo trial account (incomplete version)
·         Flash and Java installation are required. Then, you must restart the browser .
·         Wasting time and energy
·         Some songs have no Tab Pro format file.  ( For example : Led Zeppelin – Rock n Roll )

3.        With a software

Instruction :
·         Download the software TuxGuitar (able to open .gp2 through .gp5 format file and Power Tab)
·         Install it
·         Open your unopened .gp5 file with it.

·         Save the file as.gp4 or below format (i reccomend the latest format .gp4)

Plus :
·         TuxGuitar is a free (unregistered) software. (forget about crack’em with keygen or buy it via online, heck no ! )
·         Save your renewal .gp5 file with their own setting completely. (you don’t need to set up the song)
·         No bugs and error
Minus:
·         You can’t change the .gp5  files in a single click. (if you have more than one)

I can conclude that we can be a virtuoso in many ways, it isn’t the end of the world if you can’t open .gp5 file.  The hard work for the hard rock !!

Music Review : Aishah and The Fan Club

This is a good stuff, i found it several days before !!
I always begin experimenting my ear to some new genre, new musician and new song  by surfing them on Google. Just see what makes me attached to and go for it.

Actually, it was a coinsidence, when i tried to search an amusing old song by typing a little part of the lyric which  i overheard it on radio the days before. After i found the lyric, i copied cat the song title and downloaded it, the bluesy song was titled “Bayangan” and sung by Aishah, a Malaysian singer. This song was sung in Malaysian language and i could understand because i’m Indonesian and my mother language has similarity with Malaysian language.

Amused by her sweet-heavenly voice, I began searching about her on Malaysia Wikipedia, I got surprised of her footage that she had begun her career professionally as a vocalist in a New Zealand pop dance group named “Aishah and The Fan Club” when she had studied there in the end of 80s. Her band was so famous with  single “Sensation” and made their only biggest breakthrough in US 100 Hot Chart with their single “Don’t Let Me Fall Alone” in 1990.

I tried to watch her live performance “Sensation” on youtube when she wore a red dress. But, honestly, “Sensation” didn’t catch my soul then. I also found that her appeareance looked like an afro-american than south-asian (I compared her complexion in her “ 90s solo career” was whiter than in band), so her voice. She was “Mariah Carey” look-alike but her voice wasn’t.

I  tried to download some of her popular singles like, “I Feel Love”, “Don’t Let Me Fall Alone”, “Never Give Up On You” and so on. I saw the videos too but i dissatisfied with the resolution and made me ask “What made this famous popstar in New Zealand couldn’t deserve better resolution video ?” Well, I presumed it couldn’t made better in NZ than in US.

For me, the best are “I Don’t Need a Lover”, “I Feel Love” and “Don’t Let Me Fall Alone”. Such a flirty, lively the sound she could make. “Aw Gotta set me free boy xD !!”
But, don't be surprised if you compare her voice when she sang in band (in English) and in solo (with her mother language), it just like “Opposite-personality” because since she began her solo career, she mostly sang songs containing religious values.

Too bad, she had retired her singer career in this 21st century but I still see her band fanpage on FB too.
